My Review
Let me tell you, I flew through this book! When I read both the first and second book in this series, it took me straight back to high school when I was reading three or four books a week. It has all the teen angst you could ever ask for AND we get to add in the lore of vampires, werewolves, and monster hunters? Count me all the way in!
I was rooting for our main characters, Olivia and Liam, to get together throughout both books and reveling in the drama throughout it all! We take some surprise twists I didn’t see coming and all along the way get to experience the lure of monster hunting. Then, we start to question, what truly is a monster? And are we really the good guys?
Diving into what constitutes a monster had to be my favorite part of this book. We begin discussing what truly is a monster and how it differs from person to person. I began questioning if our heroes were even the heroes of this story, but maybe they were the ones causing most of the problems.
While I had a few issues with the way these teenagers acted towards the adults (maybe it’s me, am I getting older?) it still put me back in that mindset of reading fun books when I was younger. This was exactly what I needed to pull me out of my latest reading slump and thrust me back into the paranormal world with all the teenage angst!
